Shelby came highly recommended to me by my doctor! I reached out to her after my surgery and she was so positive and helpful immediately. She thought it was so important that I start my therapy sooner rather than later, so she even worked on a Saturday to fit me in! That is true dedication that you don’t see too often these days. At every appointment, I can count on her positive energy and hard work. She really cares about her patients and makes me feel special. Thank you Shelby!!

A couple of years ago my surgeon made an appointment for me to see Shelby before the surgery.
I did not know what to expect but was so pleasantly surprised and amazed. Shelby was so sweet and welcoming that in no time I felt relaxed and “at home” in her office. In fact, she had me lie down on a table and carefully massaged all the muscles that were going to be implicated in the surgery, while doing so she was gently chatting and asking questions as a friend would over a cup of coffee. Surgery was no longer on my mind and I felt so relaxed.

I had another 15 sessions after the surgery. She gently and carefully treated all the areas where scar tissue could later become a problem as well as all the muscles that were tense and knotted as a result of a five-hour procedure. I am happy to report that not only have all the scars healed beautifully, there is no ugly ropy scarring, but also there have been no adhesions, no unpleasant tugging, rough areas, etc, which contributed to making the surgery an amazing success. I went to massage therapy a few times before, but there is no possible comparison because this is so different from massage therapy. Shelby’s professional and cares for her patients. She is the best!

I started having bladder pain 9 months after my abdominoplasty surgery with hernia and diastasis recti repair. It has been diagnosed as a very atypical interstitial cystitis, although no lesions were seen. I knew that my abdomen was somewhat blocked and did not feel like before. However, since the surgery was done a long time before the start of symptoms, the doctors did not relate it to the surgery. One year of trying different treatments, it still wasn’t resolved. Finally, my doctor wanted me to try going to Post Op Therapy for post-surgical treatment. The surgery was now almost two years past and it wasn’t certain that I could be fixed this way. Meanwhile I was getting treatment with a tricyclic drug, but it wasn’t enough to get my pain consistently lower. My waist felt like it had an internal belt before, and this disappeared after the first appointment and the pain became consistently low. Now I have a few more appointments to go, but I feel that my scar tissue will finally heal. I am not sure if the scar is the root cause of my problems, maybe it is not, but it definitely was preventing me from healing. Shelby & Rosa are great at what they’re doing. They gave me hope again for being whole. I am thankful to have found them.

I’ll take Shelby over the machines any day.  I was treated after my lipo and she worked a miracle with my back and side scar tissue. I recently had a touch up and I’m back (no pun intended) for more. She’s amazing with her hands, I can feel the difference after each session AND, she’s always a great conversationalist to distract from the sometimes uncomfortable but effective treatment. It’s the best.

I was referred to Post Op Therapy by my plastic surgeon for scar tissue therapy after having lipo and fat transfer. They were able to work me into their busy schedule right away and I am so thankful!

They spent time in the beginning teaching me all about how the body repairs after liposuction. I had quite a bit of swelling and was already feeling the scar tissue build after just one week post op. During my first session, they were able to work through all the areas very thoroughly.

I almost waited two weeks before coming in and I’m so glad I didn’t!

I left feeling so much better that the tissue didn’t have weeks to build up. They were able to tackle it before it became permanent (which are not easy to get rid of).

I wish I had done this for my first lipo as I now have lumpy scar tissue from letting it heal on its own. I was comfortable with this type of scar therapy knowing that together they have over 20+ years of experience in the field. On top of all of that, they are super kind and friendly.
